Vernal equinox

20 Mar 2006

The sun moves to the northern hemisphere today at 18:26 UTC. Practically, the night and day are equally long all over the world. Also, for a few days before and after equinox, the sun is visible from both North and South Pole. The position of Easter in the calendar is calculated in relation to the equinox in quite a complicated fashion.
