Sub-terranean icebergs

06 Feb 2006

Agnes Meyer-Brandis' SGM-Iceberg-Probe won the first prize of Transmediale. By chance it happened to be the other of two works I really learned to know during the festival. I guess this one caught my eye because of the weird humour and pseudoscience it embodied. Especially the former is often devoid in the works of media art. Also felt some similarity to the fantasy realities of early Peter Greenaway, like The Falls or VFR — and sympathy to probing because of my past as drill hole surveyor at nuclear power plant.
