Bach and resistance at Gethsemanekirche » Mika Meskanen

I felt like it was time to experience some high culture and went to hear JS Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Parts IV-VI at the Gethsemanekirche just around the corner. The location was fresh in memory, because they, ironically, approached me with a letter on the same day I got an invitation from the Finnish military to come for some refreshment training. During the times of DDR, the church was the meeting point of the resistance movement. For me, being a member of the Gethsemane parish means that I'm exempt from military as an expatriate.
