German Unity Weekend

03 Oct 2005

I. Germans celebrate the Day of Unity, so the week-end is extended. While the celebrations appeared somewhat elusive, you can play Betontischtennis in a park. II. Also, there was a Casey Reas exhibition opening at Digital Art Museum. III. Watched through the buzzworthy Finnish indie sci-fi parody Star Wreck. I honestly respect the makers' seven-year effort and hacker mentality, but I just didn't find most of the humour and twists funny at all - even at the best, they only seemed to appeal to the worst qualities of man. IV. Catched a glimpse of the annular solar eclipse from under the steel archs of Schönhauser Allee. Cloud cover was heavy, but occasionally the bitten disc of the sun shone through.
